Your Waxing Questions, Answered

  • Honestly? A little. Anyone who tells you it is completely painless is selling something. But it is quick, it is nowhere near as bad as you are picturing, and it genuinely gets easier every time as the hair grows back finer. We use hard wax on delicate areas, which grips the hair and not your skin, and we talk you through the whole thing. Most first-timers tell us afterward that the anticipation was worse than the appointment.

  • You come in, we chat, you get comfortable. We explain each step before it happens so nothing catches you off guard, and you can ask us to slow down or pause at any point. Nobody here is judging your hair, your body, or your questions. First-timers are genuinely our favorite people to see. Book the New Client Brazilian at $45 and you get the full experience.

  • About a quarter of an inch, roughly the length of a grain of rice. In practice we recommend two and a half to three weeks of growth since your last shave. Two weeks is often too short, and if the wax has nothing to grab you will not get a clean result, so it is genuinely worth the extra few days. If it is much longer, do not panic and do not trim it yourself. We will handle it.

  • Let the hair grow to about a quarter inch, exfoliate gently a day or two before (not the day of), and come with clean, dry skin and no lotion or oil. Skip the sun, the tanning bed, and any retinol on the area for a couple of days beforehand. If you are nervous, taking an ibuprofen about half an hour ahead takes the edge off. Avoid caffeine right before, it makes you more sensitive.

  • Sugar paste is made from sugar, lemon, and water, and it is applied at body temperature rather than warm. It grips the hair and releases in the direction of growth, which a lot of clients find gentler, especially on sensitive skin. Wax is faster and works better on coarse, dense hair. We offer both across the whole menu at the same prices, so you can try one and switch if you prefer the other.

  • Every four to six weeks for body waxing is the sweet spot. Sticking to a rhythm matters more than people expect. When you wax on schedule, the whole cycle syncs up, regrowth comes in softer and patchier, and appointments get faster and more comfortable over time. Plenty of our clients have been on a monthly rotation for years.

  • Exfoliate regularly starting a few days after your wax, keep the area moisturized, and give tight clothing a rest for the first day or two. Ingrowns are mostly a skincare problem, not a waxing problem, so the routine between appointments is what actually fixes it. We will walk you through exactly what to use for your skin, and we would rather over-explain the aftercare than have you guessing.

  • Yes. Waxing with a tampon in is completely normal and we have done it many, many times. We keep tampons and freshen-up wipes in the treatment room, so if you get caught out, we have you. One thing worth knowing: skin runs a little more sensitive right before and during your cycle. Nothing dramatic, but if it is your very first wax and your schedule is flexible, another week might be more comfortable.

  • If you are short on time or just want a glow, the Effortless Glow Express is $80 for 35 minutes. The Signature Geespot Facial at $100 is the full hour with a deep cleanse, exfoliation, extractions if you need them, and a mask. If you have something specific to target, the Customized tiers add advanced modalities: one for $115, two for $130, three for $150. Not sure? Book the Signature and we will tell you what your skin actually needs.

  • It is a treatment that relaxes and resets the direction your brow hairs grow, so they sit fuller, straighter, and brushed-up without daily gel. It suits unruly brows and sparse ones equally. Lamination on its own is $55, add a wax or tint for $65, or all three for $75. Expect it to hold for roughly six to eight weeks.

  • Six to eight weeks, which is about one full growth cycle for your natural lashes. Add a tint and you skip mascara for most of that. Keep them dry for the first 24 hours and avoid oil-based makeup removers after that and you will get the full run out of it. Lash lift and tint together is $80.

  • Absolutely, and plenty of clients do exactly that. Book both services so we set aside enough time rather than trying to squeeze it in. The exception is microneedling and chemical peels. We will not wax on the same day as either one, because that is far too much to ask of your skin at once. If you have both on your wishlist we will space them out for you.

  • No, every service is by appointment only, and all booking happens through our online booking page. It keeps the studio unhurried and means your time is actually your time. We are open Tuesday through Saturday. If you are not sure which service to book, message us first and we will point you at the right one.

  • You get a seven minute grace period. After that the appointment is canceled and a 50% fee applies. Cancelling or rescheduling inside 24 hours is also a 50% fee. None of it is personal, it just protects the client booked after you. The full details are on our policies page.

  • Exact change or card. If you are paying cash please bring the exact amount, since we do not carry change. Card payments have a 3.5% processing fee added to the total. Nothing is hidden and nothing gets sprung on you at checkout.

  • Sí. Monika is a bilingual licensed esthetician and takes appointments in Spanish or English. Book with her directly if Spanish is what you are most comfortable in.
